Note: You can also adjust settings like 2 sided and single sided and the copier will create a scan from the document feeder on top. If you have pages in a book, make a regular copy of the page(s) first and then use the photocopies to scan.
This blog post is a tutorial for teachers in the EVSC who would like to take a paper document and easily turn it into a digital resource that can be kept on a computer, shared via email, Angel, or iPad. We will be using the copy machine to scan and create files as a pdf which will be emailed to an inbox. If you would like a handout to save or print, you can Click Here. 1. First select the scan button on the copier (to the left of the touch screen) 2. Press the Login button 3. Enter your login info by entering first.lastname and press OK 4. This screen is the scan options screen. Select Manual Entry to enter the email address where you would like to receive the document. 5. Enter the email address where you would like the scan to go and press OK 6. You will the see the email address entered on the scan options screen 7. Optional Settings: By pressing the Scan Settings button you can chose several options like file type, scan resolution, black and white, color, etc. A higher scan resolution will give you a higher quality picture but will create a larger file size. (The auto settings should be fine for most jobs) 8. Place your items to scan on the glass or in the document feeder on top and press Start. Your document will arrive in your email inbox shortly!

Each new year people make resolutions to lose weight, read more, eat less, exercise more, etc. I have some of those personal goals for myself but this year I thought I would make some Tech Resolutions as well. Why this geeky addition to traditional resolutions? After one semester in the role of an eLearning Coach, I began to realize that there are a number of technologies that I learn about but never really explore and put to good use. In response, I thought I would it would be worthwhile to take some important technology tools and explore them more deeply by using them on a regular basis. Here are some of my resolutions for the new year (school year anyway):
I am excited about to see what 2012 will hold! Feel free to share your resolutions below in the comments or tweet about them #2012techresolutions. If you get a chance, ask me how I'm doing, check the blog or my twitter feed to see if I'm keeping up (@klaviermann76). Have a great new year! |
