- Make a class website for your parents to visit containing your newsletter, class info, and homework
- Make a class website for your students where you can put all of the info you want your students to access. Some teachers might prefer having one website to contain all their websites, games, documents, and info for students. It can be easier than putting these things in My Big Campus.
- Create a blog where students can respond to a post you create
- Help students create a website about a topic you are studying. There are so many fun tools in Weebly, your students will love using this on the netbooks.
- Help students develop an online portfolio/website of your student's work. This can be an awesome way to display student work and they will enjoy editing their portfolio of work.
- Students can keep an online 'journal' of their writing with the blog feature. Remember: websites can be public or private. Either way you can check in on their progress. Public entries with an authentic audience will sometimes help hard to motivate students work harder as they know someone is reading their work.
- Pair up with a middle school or high school class who could be reading your student websites/blogs and providing feedback and a real audience. You will be surprised how hard students will work when they know an older student is reading their work and interacting with them.

Have you ever wanted to create websites with students in your class? Have you been disappointed that it's just too difficult to create websites? Ever wanted to manage student websites? If you answered 'Yes' to any of the questions above, I want to share a resource I have been using for a couple of years now. Weebly Education is a free website creation tool where you as a teacher can create your own website easily and you can also manage up to 40 student accounts. With those 40 student accounts, you can see what your students are doing on their websites and manage their logins and passwords. The site you are viewing now was created with Weebly. The interface is very simple and yet allows for professional quality website creation. The video below gives you a brief overview of how great this tool can be. Weebly would be a great tool for students to create a website about something they are studying in class. It would also be a great tool for students to blog daily or weekly about a project or assignment they are doing in class. You can determine whether a student's website is public or private. Did I mention that this is all free? Take a moment to look at www.education.weebly.com today and see if this might a resource you would want to use in your classroom.
